The number of live births in the Republic of Serbia in the period January-June 2022 amounted to 29,334, while the number of deaths in the same period stood at 60,346, said the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS).

Compared with the same period of the previous year, the number births increased by 521 or 1.8%, while the number of deaths recorded a decrease by 5,471 or 8.3%, the RZS said.

In June 2022 there were 5,163 live births, six more than in June 2021, as well as 7,744 deaths, or 1,354 less than in the same month last year, said the RZS.
