Pristina: CSM not priority, more urgent issues ahead

N1

Yet another round of Belgrade - Pristina talks proved friutless with Kosovo falling short of setting the date for implementation of a part of Brussels Agreement regarding the Community os Serb Municipalities

Chief of Kosovo delegation in Brussels negotiations Avni Arifi said on Sunday (March 25) Pristina “government had more urgent issues to tackle and that Community of of Serb Municipalities, CSM, is not a priority”.

“We don’t want to retaliate against Serb deputies for abstaining from voting on the demarcation line with Montenegro. We still have correct relations, so this is not a punishment,”

Arifi told Pristina Ekspres newspaper. Kosovo continues to ignore a part of the Brussels agreement, despite the EU foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini pledge for an “urgent need to form the Association of Serb Municipalities”.

Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said he did not believe Pristina would honour the agreement, but put the blame not only on the Albanian side but on the EU one as well.

“Almost 1,800 days have passed and none of the six main points of the Brussels Agreement have been even read. That cannot be only Albanian fault: EU signed it too,” Vucic said follwing the last round of Pristina – Belgrade talks in Brussels that again hit the dead end. Brussels Agreement was signed almost four five years ago, on April 19, 2013.
