The Serbian Government is planning to sell its 20% stake in the Jubmes bank, FoNet news agency reported on Wednesday (April 4).   The Finance Ministry published a statement in Politika daily saying it intends to “start researching the market with a view to selling the shares in the bank owned by Serbia”.

The Ministry, acting on behalf of the government, said the plan is to sell the 58,287 shares with voting rights in the Jubmes banka ad Beograd and is researching the market to “assess the interest of potential investors in the transaction and its conditions”, the statement said.

A number of companies and banks own shares in Jubmes including the Beobanka ad Beograd which is in receivership and the former Yugoslavia (SFRJ). The Serbian National Bank (NBS) says on its web site that the successor states reached agreement on dividing the capital of the bank but that agreement has not been implemented to date.
