Government should sue Etihad over Air Serbia losses

The former CEO of Serbia’s defunct national airline JAT Airways says the government should sue Etihad for damages inflicted on Air Serbia.

Etihad managed Air Serbia on its own, without the government, for five years and the airline now has no chance of survival because it can only create losses, Predrag Vujović said on the N1 TV morning show Novi Dan.

Air Serbia was set up wrong and had no chance of surviving for the simple reason that a multi-national company like Etihad could never make a national company since those are two completely different concepts, he said adding that Etihad has no reason to pull out of the deal because it has no expenses and no risk and has absolute control over Air Serbia.

Vujovic doesn’t think Air Serbia will take delivery of new aircraft because it doesn’t have the money to pay for them.
