Michel, who is arriving on Monday,  told Beta news agency he was coming to Belgrade to encourage Serbia’s authorities to carry out the reforms on the EU integration path, but not only for the purpose of joining the EU but for the benefit of all its citizens.

Belgium’s senior official also said that his country recognized independence of Kosovo but would like to understand better the position of Serbia and to talk about how the two sides could move closer to normalization.

Michel is scheduled to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana brnabic with whom he will discuss the situaiton in the region because, as he noted, Serbia is apparently the key player who can contribute a lot to permanent peace, stability and propserity.
