Rockets used for hail prevention have crashed into a populated area of southern Serbia over the past few days, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.
One of the rockets fell into the yard of a family house in the center of the town of Kursumlija. The rocket did not explode, hitting a concrete path, house owner Miroslav Acimovic said.
“We heard a bang in the front yard and thought it was thunder. When the heavy rain stopped we found the rocket,” he said, adding that it was clearly marked as an anti-hail rocket made by Trajal.
A second rocket fell onto a nearby street. Eyewitnesses said it hit a lamp post, fell to the sidewalk and broke into pieces.
Beta said the police is investigating where the rockets were fired from just before the storm.
