Serbian Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said Sunday that his Ministry does not have a good cooperation with the Kosovo police regarding the investigation into the murder of the Freedom, Democracy, Justice (SDP) Initiative’s Oliver Ivanovic who advocated for the rights of the Serbian majority in the north of Kosovo.
Stefanovic appealed to the EULEX (The European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo — a deployment of European Union (EU) police and civilian resources to Kosovo) to become actively involved in the case.
Stefanovic said that it was an investigation by the Prosecution, but that Serbia has so far tried to exert pressure on the Kosovo police, EULEX and the UN as well as the entire international community so they would to exert pressure in order to resolve the case as fast as possible. He added that there was no data exchange in this case.
“I’d like to use this opportunity to appeal to the EULEX once more to understand the gravity of the situation and the role they have and to become more actively involved in the solving of this case,” Stefanovic stressed.
