Republika Srpska (RS) president Milorad Dodik said on Wednesday that he will only look after RS interests when he gets elected to the Bosnia-Herzegovina state Presidency in October.
He said the problem in Bosnia-Herzegovina is the difference between what is done in practice or written in the entity constitutions and what is written in the Bosnia-Herzegovina constitution.
Bosnia-Herzegovina has two separate entities - the RS and BiH Federation - both of which have constitutions. My role will be to try and fix the anomalies between Bosnia’s Constitution and the way it is being implemented to benefit the RS; he said adding that “nobody should expect anything else from me”.
Dodik said that he has no obligations towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, except the obligation to maintain peace.
“A narrative that has been imposed by the High Representative, that Bosnia and Herzegovina is superior to the entities will not work. That’s not going to happen. I am sending the message that they should not count on something like that. And I will surely win,” he said.
