Kosovo’s Prosecution Office denied a newspaper report claiming that US Attorney General Jeff Sessions had mediated a meeting of Serbia’s and Kosovo’s chief prosecutors over the murder of politician Oliver Ivanovic.
Quoting diplomatic sources from Kosovo, the local 'Danas' newspaper earlier wrote that the meeting between Serbia’s Public Prosecutor, Zagorka Dolovac and, Kosovo’s Head Prosecutor, Aleksandar Ljumezi, about Ivanovic’s investigation took place in Pristina.
However, the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office explained that a regional round table had taken place on May 24 in Zagreb and that it was attended by Sessions, regional head prosecutors and police directors from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
Participants also attended a dinner, where "all the main guests sat at one table".
"There were talks among the participants on this occasion, but in no way in a form or on the subjects as reported by the media," the Kosovo Prosecutor's Office said in a press release.
