10 years to form an army, KFOR commander says

He said a lot needs to be done to transform the Kosovo Security Forces into a military. “Once the decision is taken it will take at least 10 years to form an army. The question of the military in just a transition or a transformation issue. It is a question of equipment, training, and ability and capacity building,” the general said.

The KFOR commander said the decision to form a military in Kosovo has to be acceptable to all sides and cannot be done just by adopting a draft law. It takes more money, weapons and different training and it is a long-term process, he said.
