The European Union supports projects which stimulate entrepreneurship in Serbia, especially among young people and women, EU Delegation chief Sem Fabrizi said on Friday.
“The younger generations should get an opportunity to start and develop their own enterprises, to be creative and put forward good business ideas and use the opportunities on offer while the authorities should create an environment conducive to business. Young people will then become part of the solution, not the problem,” Fabrizi said during a visit to the Masry Plus factory in the southwestern town of Sjenica which received EU support to get sugar production equipment.
He called local authorities and companies to take active part in implementing the new EU PRO program which is directed the economic and social development of local communities.
The European Union is the biggest single provider of financial aid to Serbia, both in support of state institutions and of private enterprise.
