The Liberian government on Friday denied that it had severed diplomatic relations with Kosovo as reported by media during a visit to Belgrade by Foreign Minister Gbehzohngar Milton Findley.
Copies of a written statement with the logo of the Liberian Foreign Ministry were circulated to reporters during a joint press conference by the Serbian and Liberian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic and Findley which said that “Liberia annuls its letter of recognition of Kosovo”
. Friday’s statement published on the Liberian Foreign Ministry web site said that “the Government of the Republic of Liberia wishes to refute reports in some international and social media of its revocation of diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kosovo”. “Liberia remains committed to the Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations”, it said.
Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli denied that Liberia annulled its recognition of Kosovo’s independence.
