Schools in Serbia will get psychologists to help combat drug addiction, Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic said on Thursday.
Speaking on Belgrade’s TV Prva, Sarcevic said the plan is to hire 155 psychologists for the next school year.
He said parents are the most important part of the fight against drug addiction. “Schools are not the only or the main place because everything comes from the family. Parental care has to be great for every child,” the minister said.
Sarcevic said the schools already have drug prevention programs. The Serbian government set up a commission to combat drugs in schools which met for the first time earlier this week.
