Serbia is a moderate innovator whose performance has improved over the past year, according to the European Commission’s European Innovation Scoreboard, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.
Serbia now ranks higher than eight European Union member states on the scoreboard, the Ministry of Innovation and Technological Development said in a press release.
According to the European Commission, Serbia’s best results have been achieved in firm investments, linkages and employment impacts, the press release added.
The European Innovation Scoreboard has four country categories – innovation leaders, strong innovators, moderate innovators and modest innovators.
Serbia falls into the category of countries whose performance in innovations is equal to 50 to 90 percent of the EU average.
