The representatives of the opposition Alliance for Serbia (SZS) will discuss the distribution of the mandates in future Serbia’s Parliament, the Danas daily reported on Wednesday.
The last general elections in Serbia were held in 2016, and unless an early vote was called, the next parliamentary ballot should be held in two years.
The Danas sources from the SZS say that the nationalist and anti-European movement Dveri will most probably be a part of the Alliance, as well as the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), also known for its scepticism about the country's European Union membership.
The bloc will “strongly” oppose a legally binding agreement between Belgrade and Pristina which is expected to be signed after the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue ends, the sources tell Danas.
They added the bloc would be against the eventual deal which they believed would allow Kosovo’s UN membership.
The Danas sources said that the bloc might boycott the next elections, but that individual members insisted on distributing the mandates anyway.
The newspaper reminds that the Alliance won’t have a president, but will have a chairman from the member parties rotating in alphabetical order.
