Berchtesgaden, a German town in the Bavarian Alps, has decided to allocate the most wanted grave spaces by lottery, the Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA), reported.
Berchtesgaden’s authorities have been declining people’s requests to be buried in a 17th-century graveyard for years due to lack of space.
Recently, 200 graves have become available, and the town has decided to give everyone a fair chance by using the lottery to allow the burial spaces. An estimated 280 people signed up.
