Osman Nurkovic on behalf of Montenegro and Zorana Mihajlovic representing Serbia put their signatures on the document regulating the cooperation between Belgrade and Podgorica in the building of the infrastructural projects.

“Based on the memorandum, Serbia and Montenegro will be able to define the infrastructural projects they can work on together,” Mihajlovic said.

Nurkovic added that his country had so far reconstructed over 40 percent of the Belgrade – Bar railway on its territory and that it had secured 70 million Euros in loans and grants for the works.

“Our aim is that in three years from now we have much better railway transport between Serbia and Montenegro,” Nurkovic said.

Mihajlovic added that the infrastructural linkage, “whether it’s a motorway, or railway, regional or between two countries, is of utmost importance and a safe way to improve people’s life. It is not enough that a country takes care only of its own infrastructure.”
