Kosovo’s Thaci: Pristina has proofs that Serbia sells arms

Hashim Thaci told reporters in Pristina that Behgjet Pacolli was “daily engaged in the issue” being in charge of new recognitions, but also of thwarting Serbia’s efforts to prevent them.

Belgrade has denied accustaions, saying its arms deals were commericial and made years before.

 Speaking about the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on normalisation of relations, Thaci said that it would happen through the official mutual recognition which would open the door for Kosovo’s membership in all international organisations, including the United Nations.

Belgrade has repeatedly said it will never recognise Kosovo’s independence declared in 2008 and consequently will not allow Pristina a seat in the UN.

Thaci on Tuesday asked Kosovo’s parliament to get directly involved into the dialogue and said that the MPs would have the final say.

Pristina's opposition is firmly against any deal with Belgrade and says Thaci should not lead the talks since he has not got a parliament authorisation.

Both Thaci and Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic have been trying to include more participants in their talks which are not transparent and which opposition both in Belgrade and Pristina have warned for some time.

Belgrade says that a popular vote will have the final say on any deal with Pristina.
