Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday that he believes that a division of Kosovo will not be allowed.
Speaking to reporters at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new car parts factory in Cacak, Vucic said that a division of territory will not be allowed not out of fear of the consequences but because no one wants Serbia to appear to succeed.
Commenting a warning by Raska-Prizren Bishop Teodosije that a division of territory would lead of a mass exodus of Serbs from Kosovo and the destruction of centuries-old cultural and spiritual heritage sites, the Serbian President said that “foreign secret services” have made the same arguments but did not specify who he was referring to.
“He doesn’t want ethnic borders but he does want the non-existent state to pay 650,000 Euros to the Church,” Vucic said, adding that Serbia stands to gain nothing from division.
“You don’t want ethnic borders and a demarcation with the Albanians? No problem, be prepared to see all this happen again in Vranje in 40 years,” Vucic said.
