No one in the Government has a different opinion on whether Serbia needs to negotiate with Kosovo, Serbia’s Deputy Speaker Rasim Ljajic said, adding that Serbia knows what it wants and what it can achieve in the talks.
“I don’t think there is anyone who thinks there is no need for a solution or for negotiations to continue. We should give our absolute support to our negotiation team…,” Ljajic told Radio Television of Serbia.
He said there are „different views on the Kosovo issue“ within the Serbian Government, which he assessed as normal because different ministers come from different political parties. According to Ljajic, the call for internal dialogue was motivated by the fact that every „important factor in this society has the right to say what they think the solution to this issue should be.“
„The problem arises when one doesn’t know what they want, and Serbia knows what it wants, so far it always said what doesn’t want, but now Serbia also knows what it wants,“ Ljajic said.
He added that this was the first time for Serbia to state its suggestions which may not be the best, but “in the end, no one really knows what will come out of it all,” noting that Serbia is not alone in this process.
