Serbian national arrested in France

A Serbian national has been arrested in France on charges of fraud after trying to trade forged banknotes for Bitcoin, the Beta news agency reported on Monday.

The citizen of Serbia, whose identity was not released by the police, was arrested after tricking a South Korean national into trading 2 million Euros worth of Bitcoin for forged banknotes. The South Korean went to the police when he discovered that the 500 Euro notes were forged.  

The man was taken before a judge in Nice and was charged with committing fraud as part of an organized crime gang. The police are searching for his accomplices.  

The Serbian man was arrested on August 13 in a luxury hotel in Cannes in which he lived.
