The Democratic Alliance of Kosovo (DSK) gained the support of other opposition parties for its request for an extraordinary parliament session which would confirm the inseparability of Kosovo, the Zery daily reported on Tuesday.

The Self-Determination and Social-Democratic parties joined in, the daily said, adding that the requested session should take place ahead of the regular one scheduled for September 7.

“We will suggest the adoption of the resolution which would confirm that Kosovo is a single territory that cannot be divided and that no one has the mandate to negotiate its partition,” the head of the DSK parliamentary club Avdullah Hoti told the daily.

His party said it would not allow the presidents of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and Serbia Aleksandar Vucic to discuss Kosovo’s territory.

“Thaci must stop. The negotiation on the Kosovo land is unconstitutional, and everyone who joins that game will bear both constitutional and political responsibility. We will coordinate the work in the parliament to prevent Thaci to undermine the sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Kosovo,” the DSK said in a statement.

The Self-Determination party added it would stage protests ahead of the next Thaci – Vucic meeting in Brussels (scheduled for September 7). The aim of the rally is supposed to be the resistance to the “border correction” initiative, i.e., the exchange of the territories with Belgrade, advocated by Thaci.

The party has said that Thaci’s meetings with Vucic are private encounters during which he pushes for personal interests and is not representing Kosovo.
