The Serbian Ministry of the Economy invited offers on thursday for the privatization of the Valjevska Pivara brewery.

The advertisement said that the starting price for the brewery is 7.05 million Euro, adding that the deadline to submit offers is October 5 and that the offers will be opened on October 8.

The brewery in the town of Valjevo has some 190 employees and is operating at a profit. The brewery was taken over by the government following a failed privatization attempt in 2003. The brewery had been sold for 20 million Dinars to Belgrade-based Atlas Group consortium. The brewery went into receivership in 2010 because it could not repay its debts.
