LIFFE film festival opens in southern Serbia

The 11th International Film Directors’ Festival LIFFE opened in the southern Serbian town of Leskovac with the screening of two Serbian movies.

The films Southern Wind (Juzni Vetar) and Bandits Searching for Mum (Banditi u potrazi za mamom) were screened on the first evening of the festival following opening remarks by director Darko Bajic and actor and producer Dragan Bjelogrlic.  

Director Slobodan Sijan was presented the festival’s award for affirmation of the film as art.  

The festival will screen movies from the countries of the region and will include an exhibition of costumes from period dramas, book presentations and concerts.
