Kosovo’s Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj told a senior State Department official that he was against any territory swap with Serbia, adding he couldn't convey what Matthew Palmer told local politicians during the meeting at the US embassy in Pristina, the Beta news agency reported on Friday.

Haradinaj said it was essential that Palmer, US' Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, came to Kosovo despite all the issues America was facing, what, as the Prime Minister described it, was “the proof that the US firmly stands by Kosovo and the region.”
“That was his main message,” Haradinaj said, reiterating that any solution should end in a legally binding agreement, mutual recognition, and should not be based on territories or border.
“That’s a cover-up for the division of Kosovo. Kosovo is what it was on February 17, 2008,” he added.
Haradinaj said he was interested in reconciliation (with the Serbs) and closing of all open issues.
