Serbia’s Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said the state was forced to construct the Ub-Lajkovac highway section from the scratch and that “culprits” for the new construction, which cost 100 million Dinars, will have to answer for that.

Mihajlovic paid a visit to the construction site on Friday and said this was “a precedent in the modern construction.” She added that the Government of Serbia had to money to waste.

“It is a precedent to reconstruct a new highway. We are here to show the citizens of Serbia how some used to work before and how much it costs us. We are forced to construct all over again the road that had to be maintained only,” Mihajlovic said.

According to a statement issued by the Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Ministry of Serbia, the minister also said that no mistake on the road and railway infrastructural projects would be tolerated.
