The largest education and health care provider in the United Arab Emirates, the Tumbay Group, will invest more than 250 million Euros into building a new medical university, a student campus and a clinic in Serbia, the Serbian Education Ministry said on Sunday.
The ‘Gulf’ medical university and the ‘Tumbay’ hospital are expected to employ some 5,000 people, including various specialists, nurses and other staff.
According to Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic, a meeting where the location for the campus is to be determined will take place beginning of November.
“The new university will have numerous study programmes and will be a great opportunity for domestic, but above all foreign students,” he said.
The project was made official with the signing of several memorandums during the recent visit of Serbian officials to the UAE after the Ministry had worked on it with the Tumbay Group for a year.
