Vucic, Merkel discuss Kosovo in Paris

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Paris, where they attended the marking of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

They talked about bilateral relations, economic cooperation, the situation in the region and Serbia’s EU integration process.

Vucic told Merkel about the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the latest move by Kosovo on raising taxes for products from Serbia and Bosnia, expressing his disbelief that someone can violate agreements, regional cooperation and stability, so recklessly.  

He also told the Chancellor about the improvements in Serbia’s economy, thanking her for the increased number of German investments in Serbia who now employ more than 52,000 people.  

Chancellor Merkel welcomed the improvements in Serbia’s economy and added she wants to help the Western Balkans region maintain peace and stability.
