Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that “Serbia is making big efforts to be the guarantor of peace and stability in this part of Europe."

„Just like a 100 years ago, Serbia is determined to be a responsible and organised society which will strengthen its position in the family of European nations,“ Stefanovic noted.

On behalf of the Serbian government, he led the central ceremony of laying the wreaths and paying respects to the fallen soldiers amid World War One’s Armistice Day, in Belgrade.

„We don’t want to reconstruct and rebuild. We want to make progress in peace and to build a better future for our country,“ the Interior Minister added.

Representatives of the City of Belgrade and the Diplomatic Corps, among which were ambassadors of Great Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Russia and EU Delegations, also paid tribute to the fallen soldiers.
