Five Serbian nationals have been sentenced to prison terms by a court in Greece for inflicting serious bodily harm on US citizens Bakari Henderson on the island of Zakynthos in July 2017.
Henderson died of injuries inflicted by the five young men who assaulted him in front of a bar on the island. The court found them guilty of the lesser charge of inflicting serious bodily harm instead of murder as the prosecution demanded at the start of the trial.
The sentences range from five to 10 years for the five Serbian young men while a British citizen of Bosnian origin was sentenced to 15 years in jail.
Two other Serbian were found not guilty and freed as was one of the Greek bartenders who was involved in the fight.
