The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) spokesperson said on Friday the Force knew about the Kosovo police special ROSU unit intervention in the northern part of the divided Mitrovica town, adding the reason was “bringing to justice” four people suspected of involvement in a local Serb leader murder, the Beta news agency reported.
Vincenzo Grasso told the Belgrade-based Prva television that “the representatives of the Kosovo police arrested some people in connection to the murder of Oliver Ivanovic”, who headed the Civic Initiative SDP.
Grasso added he did not know where the apprehended Serbs were, but that he was sure they would be brought to justice.
“We knew it was a police operation. I can confirm that there were no troops yesterday, no planned action and no arrest warrant,” Grasso said.
