Serbia does not need verbal reactions from the international community but needs to have Pristina revoke the 100 percent tariffs on goods from Serbia, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told the state TV (RTS).

He said the only rational way out of the problem is to revoke the tariffs which he believes can be done “under pressure from Washington because Pristina operates at the push of a button”.

“We sent a clear message that we do not want an escalation of the situation and do not want to take steps which will contribute to someone saying that both sides are to blame,” Dacic said.

According to Dacic, the United States are joining in the Belgrade-Pristina talks to open the door so that we can talk but are not involved in the process just as Russia and China are not involved and the process is defined by the European Union.

“The (Kosovo) Serbs should be calm, approach the problem rationally and work on defending our national and state interests in full coordination with Belgrade and the state leadership,” he said.

The foreign minister said that Pristina is not doing well or else it would not have taken this desperate step. “That is why we should win in politics, not just in wars,” he said.
