Serbia’s public debt stood at about 23.95 billion Euros at the end of September 2018 or 55.9 percent of the GDP, the Finance Ministry said in a press release.
The public debt stood at 23.2 billion Euros or 61.5 percent of the GDP at the end of 2017, 24.8 billion Euros or 71.9 percent of the GDP in December 2016, 24.8 billion or 74.7 percent of the GDP at the end of 2015, 22.76 billion or 70.4 percent of the GDP at the end of 2014 and 20.14 billion or 59.6 percent of the GDP at the end of 2013.
Serbia’s public debt stood at 14.17 billion Euros or 201.2 percent of the GDP at the end of the year 2000.
It stood lowest in 2008 – 8.78 billion Euros or 28.3 percent of the GDP. Under the law on the budget system, the public debt is limited to 45 percent of the GDP.
