Serbian budget surplus just under 50 billion Dinars

The Serbian state budget had a surplus of 49.3 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) at the end of September with income standing at 873.7 billion and expenses at 824.5 billion, the Finance Ministry said on Thursday.

The budget surplus stood at 12.5 billion Dinars in September.

Income collected in September stood at 102.9 billion, including tax revenue of 93 billion Dinars. Most of the tax revenue was from VAT (54.3 billion) and duties (22.7 billion).

Non-tax revenue stood at 9.6 billion Dinars and donations accounted for 300 million Dinars.

Budget expenses in September totaled 90.5 billion Dinars with employee expenses standing at 21.3 billion Dinars and transfers to social security institutions at 19 billion.

The overall national fiscal surplus in the January-September period stood at 54.3 billion Dinars (1.5 percent of the GDP) and the primary fiscal surplus at 148.7 billion (4.1 percent of the GDP).

The Finance Ministry said that a fiscal surplus of 14.6 billion Dinars was planned for that period which means the result was 68.9 billion Dinars better than planned.
