Serbian Left leader Borko Stefanovic said that the opposition does not need to lead the column at protests even though the Alliance for Serbia fully supports the protests.

“The “snowball from Krusevac” (when he was beaten badly) has become an avalanche and the faces of the protest should be people, citizens angry because of lies, the crimes of the authorities, thefts, unemployment, war mongering and dividing the people,” Stefanovic told Belgrade daily Danas.

Commenting criticism that the protests will fail if they are politically articulated, that is if political parties do not join in, Stefanovic said that the protests are politically articulated but are not party protests which he said is a good thing.

Stefanovic said the protest organizers have formulated the demands that the Alliance for Serbia supports and added that the aim of the protest marches is having the demands fulfilled and the media opened, the arrest of criminals and bringing the state that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has grabbed back to Serbia.
