Kosovo Deputy PM and one of the leaders of Pristina’s negotiation team with Serbia, Fatmir Ljimaj, said that Kosovo will not allow someone to work on its destruction while profiting from its market.

Commenting for RTV Dukadjini on a statement by the US Embassy in Pristina which said that the 100-per-cent tariffs on imports from Serbia and Bosnia must be immediately withdrawn, Ljimaj said Kosovo was not making any steps that could be harming the interests of the United States, having in mind that the US “co-owns Kosovo’s freedom,” but that his country now is now taking a different course.
"Kosovo can no longer be treated the way it was by its neighbouring country which is engaged in destroying it while using the Kosovo market. This is insulting for the citizens of Kosovo, so we changed course,” he said.
According to Ljimaj, it is time to assess whether the reasons that led to the introduction of visas still exist and he said that Serbia has sent signals indicating that a solution could be found soon.
