The Democratic Party (DS) is demanding to know whether the murdered Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic reported concerns for his safety to Serbia’s top civilian security agency.
The DS Serbian parliament group called the Security Services Committee to demand an answer to its question from the Security Information Agency (BIA). The DS MPs said they want to know if Ivanovic went to the BIA headquarters between October and December 2017 to report his concerns.
A statement said the BIA should say if a note was made and if the BIA took any action to check if Ivanovic was safe or not. “Did the BIA inform the Organized Crime Prosecution about the note in regard to the investigation into the Ivanovic murder,” it said.
Statement author, DS MP Balsa Bozovic wants the parliament committee to order the BIA to respond to the questions and release the note.
Oliver Ivanovic was gunned down in front of his party offices in Kosovska Mitrovica in mid-January 2018.
