Montenegro’s Institute for Public Health said five people had died from a flu virus last week, including a two-year-old boy, while 386 others reported similar symptoms, three times more than in the same period the previous year, the Beta news agency reported.
Among those who died were two men of 83 and 82 years of age, as well as 54-year-old man and 46-year old woman.
Four of them have not been vaccinated, while there is no data for the woman.
“The flu epidemic is on the rise, and it’s expected to reach its peak in the next few weeks. Then the number of sick should start declining,” the Institute said in a statement.
