The 1 in 5 Million civic protests continued in several places across Serbia on Friday.

Protest marches were held in Novi Sad, Nis, Cacak, Uzice, Vranje, Krusevac, Zajecar, Vrsac and other places.  

A statement by several hundred artists, musicians and others was read at the protest in Novi Sad with actor Milorad Kapor fiercely criticizing Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic for saying that “no one serious” had signed a petition in support of the protests.

The weekly protests started nine weeks ago following the beating of opposition Serbian Left party leader Borko Stefanovic. The slogan for the first protests was Stop to Bloody Shirts but changed to 1 in 5 Million paraphrasing President Aleksandar Vucic who said he would not meet their demands even if five million people turned out for the protests.
