European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini said on Friday that she told Kosovo President Hashim Thaci that the 100 percent tariffs on goods from Serbia need to be revoked.

Mogherini tweeted that she also told Thaci that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue has to resume as soon as possible because there is no more time to loose.

The normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is crucial to Kosovo, Serbia, the Western Balkans region and the EU, she wrote on her Twitter account without specifying when and how she spoke Thaci.

Mogherini is in Bucharest for a meeting of EU and candidate country foreign ministers organized as part of the Romanian EU presidency.

Thaci responded on his Twitter account saying that Kosovo is committed to closing the painful chapter of its past through the dialogue. He added that a comprehensive peace agreement would bring reconciliation and membership in international organizations.

Thaci added on his Facebook profile that the message from Mogherini was clear: "the dialogue must continue, and both sides must refrain from unilateral actions that prevent it from continuing". He added that Pristina should be pragmatic and follow the advice from the EU and US. “We must immediately remove the pretext that Serbia is using to block the dialogue”.
