Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali told TV Prva that 2019 would be better for the citizens of Serbia than the previous year.
“The better budget situation means that the possibility is being created to increase public sector salaries and pensions. We will follow the situation in the coming months and if the results are good there is no reason not to raise the salaries and pensions,” he said.
The finance minister said he expects the unemployment rate to drop to single digit figures by the end of the year, adding that this will be secured through higher investments.
Mali said structural reforms are coming as recommended by the International Monetary Fund. He said a set of tax exemptions would be drawn up for the economy for next year.
