Serbia’s Transport Minister Zorana Mihajlovic and her British counterpart Jesse Norman signed in London on Wednesday an agreement on liberalisation of the road traffic between the two countries, the Beta news agency reported.

A statement from her office quoted Mihajlovic as saying it was “an important day primarily for Serbia’s transport companies,” because the agreement meant they would not need permits and licences for transporting cargo to the UK any more.

She added the talks also involved an air traffic agreement and a bilateral deal which would soon be agreed on.

The statement said Norman was satisfied with the agreement, saying it was a big step forward for both countries and further cooperation between them.

“We are open to all kinds of cooperation, the exchange of knowledge and experience regarding traffic and infrastructural project in that area,” Norman said.
