The police has not received any reports about armed groups entering Serbia proper from Kosovo but police patrols did see several houses that were burgled in southern Serbia, the Internal Affairs Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
“The police informed the owners of the uninhabited houses and found that a hunting rifle, a chainsaw and various tools had been stolen,” the statement said.
It added that lumberjacks working in the Rastelica village area reported hearing shots fired from Kosovo. Some media reported that armed Kosovo Albanians had gone to the villages in the Kursumlija area.
The local police informed the prosecution which ordered an investigation.
