Serbian Traffic Minister Zorana Mihajlovic warned on Tuesday of long delays on the country’s borders towards the countries of the region.
She told the Kopaonik Business Forum that trains are delayed by up to 10 hours on some borders and up to 15 hours on European Union borders.
“We are working to remove physical barriers to the flow of goods and people but the non-physical barriers continue to be a big problem and we have to work harder on that,” the minister said.
She said that there are serious barriers on the borders with Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria which are affecting the country’s competitiveness and development.
Mihajlovic said that Serbia would invest five billion Euros this year into the construction of highways, fast railways, waterway traffic and the development of air traffic.
