Representatives of the 1 in 5 Million protest in Novi Sad said on Thursday that the state Radio TV Vojvodina (RTV) refused all of their demands about the reporting on the protests and other issues.
“The RTV reply which rejected the demands was sent to the organizers of the protests across Vojvodina to inform them about the outcome of the civic initiative which asked the RTV to implement its obligations under the law on public information, electronic media and public media,” a statement said.
The letter signed by RTV CEO Miodrag Koprivica said that the RTV reports on the 1 in 5 Million protests on all of its media platforms and added that the demands are “interference and pressure on the editorial policy and each editor”.
It said that the demand on the duration of reports on the protests was in violation of the law and journalists code and the demand for five minutes of reporting on the protest was an attempt at censorship.
