The state leadership will try to contribute to calming down of tensions in the country amid “a very tense atmosphere,” said Suzana Vasiljevic, a media advisor to the President of Serbia.

Speaking for the Belgrade daily Danas, Vasiljevic said the current atmosphere is such that “many local and foreign actors are trying to obstruct a potential solution to the Belgrade-Pristina relations which would keep us on the European road.”

In such “tense atmosphere,” she added, the state leadership will try to use its rhetoric and behaviour to calm the tensions down.

The President's media advisor condemned the threats addressed to N1 Television and Beta news agency, adding that she would appreciate it if the N1 TV News Director addressed international organisations after the opposition's representatives recently entered the premises of the state broadcaster RTS.

Commenting on the statement, N1 Serbia News Director Jugoslav Cosic assessed that this was a shift of arguments and stressed he was not the RTS general manager to do that.

He also said Vasiljevic would know that he condemned the entry into RTS premises if she watched N1's central news. He did the same on his Twitter profile.
