The BlackRock Investment Management Company is buying the eFront software firm which has 500 employees in Belgrade, the eKapija portal reported on Wednesday.
The report said that the American investment firm is set to pay 1.3 billion Dollars for eFront which has branches in several countries across the world.
The company’s Belgrade branch includes HR, technology, account management, investment data analysis, and risk management sectors and accounts for some 60 percent of eFront’s total staff.
BlackRock announced its intention to buy the French eFront two weeks ago.
The eKapija portal said BlackRock’s arrival in Serbia is important because of the size and assets of the investment management firm. It added that BlackRock intends to integrate eFront with its Aladdin (Asset Liability and Debt and Derivatives Investment Network) platform.
