Serbian ruling party official claims two women hurt in front of Belgrade City Ha

A senior official of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) claimed on Thursday that two elderly women had been injured while preventing opposition leaders from entering Belgrade City Hall to meet with the mayor.
Marija Obradovic, a deputy leader of the SNS and President of the Union of Women, told a hastily called news conference that the two women were both over the age of 60.
She said the SNS members and other female staff at city hall stood up “heroically” to the opposition leaders and added that they decided to stop them from entering the building while a session of the Council for Gender Equality was underway.
“The two women were given first aid on the spot and taken to the Emergency Center where the staff diagnosed trauma to their heads and chests,” Obradovic said.
Obradovic also claimed that Popular Party councilor Milos Pavlovic swung to hit one of the women but was prevented by people around him.
