The plastic barriers that protesters and Serbian opposition leaders removed from a central Belgrade construction site over the weekend were reinforced with concrete barriers on Monday.
Three concrete barriers were placed on the streets around Republic Square which has been under reconstruction for several months.
Participants in the 1 in 5 Million protest and opposition leaders removed the plastic barriers twice, protesting the closure of two of the main streets in the city center.
The city authorities responded through Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic who said criminal and misdemeanour charges would be filed against the organizers and opposition leaders along with a demand for damages caused by the removal of the barriers which he claims were huge.
