The Novi Sad city branch of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) has to pay a fine of about 1,200 Euros to two former Vojvodina's Prime Minister and his deputy each for publishing insulting articles about them in 2014, N1 reported.

The city's Appellant Court also ruled that SNS had to pay the interest rate on the amount and over 1.700 Euros of trial costs.

"In these articles, they (Bojan Pajtic and Dragoslav Petrovic) were accused of 'robbing' the Vojvodina Development Bank and the Capital Investments Fund… Other websites carried those statements," the Court said.

The words like "You can hardly find a bigger and more vicious thief than Bojan Pajtic," "He only knows how to rob and cheat," "The climax of his insanity," "Pajtic's hysterical statement" were used in the articles SNS published on its website.

By publishing those articles, "SNS crossed the line of criticising (the then) authorities," the Court ruling said.
